Some historians speculate that April Fools’ Day dates back to 1582, when France swapped from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, as called for by the Council of Trent in 1563.

The public who were inert to get the news or failed to place that the start of the New Year had pushed to January 1 and reset to get it during the last week of March through April 1 became the base of jokes and hoaxes.

These hold having paper fish placed on their backs and being laid to as “Poisson d’avril”, said to symbolize a young, eventually caught fish and a gullible person.  Historians have also joined April Fools’ Day to ancient feast such as Hilaria, which was revered in Rome at the end of March and mazypublic dressing up in disguises.

 In Scotland, the folk became a two-day function, starting with “hunting the gowk,” in which public were sent on phony errands and come from by Tailie Day, which mazy pranks played on public derrieres, such as pinning sham tails or “kick me” signs on them.

What of April Fools' Day is foxy clear: in the U.S. at least, Friday will be a time for pranks for larger or for worse. But then why is an oracle. Though many layoffs have cloudy well, the history of April Fools' Day is individually blurry, as there are any competing claims of the original.

In the 16th century, the Christian world swapped from the Julian calendar, which was popularized by Julius Caesar, to the Gregorian calendar named for Pope Gregory XIII. The break turned the New Year up to January 1.

Some historians find another well for April Fools in that swap, as those still using the Julian calendar were duped by the new date. When, others insist that the folk of an April's New Year’sfete simply grow into a jocular time, which is how the pranks began.

Millions will flop pranks on each other today in tribute to the first day of April.

Several of us have blown hours plotting the classic joke to flop on friends and family.

Perhaps that hold sprinkling grass seed in a colleague’s keyboard or cling filming a sibling’s car, but how several of us reallyfamiliar why we do so?

Nobody familiar for certain, but there are a scant theory as to how April fool’s Day began.

APRIL FOOL’S DAY EVOKED AS A FRENCH CALENDAR ERROR
back in 1582, France swapped from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar causing New Year’s Day to step from April 1st to January 1.This was forced by Pope Gregory XIII fortotal European countries.Some think the folk of April fool’s Day began when the public ride to ring in the New Year on April 1st because they hadn’t heard about the calendar change.

EITHER WAY, APRIL FOOLS DAY DATES BACK TO THE CANTERBURY TALES
In the Nun’s Priest’s Tale, Geoffrey Chaucer spent about the vain cock Chauntecleer being rooked by a fox.

The date of this happening is thought to be April 1st, with his date of ‘Syn March began thirty days and two’ thought to quote to March 32 AKA April 1.

AND THE ENGLISH TURNED APRIL FOOLS DAY INTO AN ANNUAL THING

WHILE SCOTS CELEBRATE HUNTIGOWK DAY
Stumped? Well a ‘gawk’ is said to be a cuckoo or dotty person and normally Scots send this fool a sealed type to be sent. When they have done this, the type tells the recipient: ‘Dinna laugh, Dinnasmirk.

 Hunt the gawk another mile’. And the recipient is meant to send the low messenger somewhere else lower the guise of trying to aid someone.

AND THE IRISH CONVEY THE FOOL ON A FOOL’S ERRAND TOO
The clod is given a serious type to send to a named recipient, the recipient then sends him on to someone else with the type reading ‘send the fool further’.
